Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards 2009 |
One of the most eagerly awaited set of results of the year produced few surprises and more or less cemented several categories. Overall Slumdog Millionaire came out on top with several wins. Milk also got two awards but the fate of Benjamin Button, The Wrestler and Frost/Nixon seems now to be known. The BFCA are very good at predicting the majority of categories and it wouldn't be a massive shock if all the main awards went the same way come Oscar night - bar the tie between Hathaway and Streep. Overall the awards that now seen sealed thanks to the BFCA results are: Best Picture - Slumdog Millionaire, Best Actor: Sean Penn, Best Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger, Best Director: Danny Boyle, Best Animated Feature Film: Wall*E and Best Adapted Screenplay: Slumdog Millionaire. I expect all these to be winners come Oscar night. |
