Los Angeles Film Critics Awards 2009 |
The Los Angeles Film Critics (LAFC) caused a shock when they announced their winners in naming Wall-E as Best Film. Unfortunately for Pixar the LAFC are terrible at picking the Best Film getting none the same as the Academy in the last six years. Where the LAFC is normally good at predicting the Oscar is in the Best Documentary, Best Animated Feature, Best Actor and Best Actress. Therefore Man on Wire, Waltz with Bashir, Sean Penn and Sally Hawkins will be looking at least at a nomination. They may have messed up on the animated award as Wall-E would have won if they hadn't given it the Best Film award. This may go against them and mess up a very good record in the animated area. |
