Las Vegas Film Critics Awards 2009 |
Las Vegas are a great marker for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director and Best Animated Feature. This gives Wall*E another boost, if it needed any, but that is where the expected ends. Vegas have gone out on a limb here giving the Best Picture to Frost/Nixon, Best Actor to Frank Langella and Best Director to Ron Howard. Obviously they loved Frost/Nixon and so rightly gave their top honours to it but where do our predictions fit in here. History shows the more awards given to a film/actor etc raises its chances and so for the time being I would just have these surprise winners in the back of the mind and wait to see if they crop up elsewhere. Personally I think they are going to be off the mark this year but we will see. |
